There will be a preliminary round and a final. In the preliminary round, each participant must solve a previously unpublished 500-piece puzzle in a maximum of 90 minutes. In the final, each participant must solve a previously unpublished 500-piece puzzle individually developed for the championship in a maximum of 75 minutes.
The winner is the participant who completes the puzzle in the shortest time.
If no participant completes the puzzle, the winner is the one who has placed the most pieces correctly in the time allowed. All matching pieces are counted from a group size of 3 pieces.
In each round of the preliminary round, the 3 best participants in the Under 18, Over 50 and International categories, as well as the 101 best in time, qualify for the final.
The table size is 70 x 180 cm and 2 participants are placed at each table.
The participants may keep the puzzles.

* The prize includes the payment of travel expenses to participate in the Puzzle World Cup 2026, including travel to and from the event, hotel accommodation and participation fee up to a maximum amount of 2.000 €. Minors may only claim the prize with the consent of their legal guardian(s) and with an accompanying adult (self-payer). The prize is not transferable. Prizes will not be paid out in cash. In the event of non-participation in the World Cup, the prize will be forfeited. If a participant wins the prize multiple times, the puzzle club will make a compensation payment of 700 &euros; per multiple win.
